Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Layout

tpms layout

TPMS is used alongside a LINK 740 device to provide more relevant information on a vehicles diagnostics. A TPMS sensor is attached to each trye to show real time data on pressure and temperature. This data is transferred through a LRX100 to the LINK tracking unit then displayed in Webfleet. Installing sensors on both truck and trailer will pair the asset to the truck giving more useful data to the office.

The sensors will notify the driver and office if the battery level falls low and the vehicle tracking box will show if any sensors are missing or damaged. This will be shown in the maintenance task bar in Webfleet.

TPMS allows a business to adopt predictive tyre management thus greatly reducing the risk of blowouts during transit. The tyres are well maintained due to the TPMS technology increasing the sustainability in the business. All this will also lead to a reduction in penalties from the authorities. This innovative technology from Webfleet boasts many ways in which a haulage business can improve its bottom line.

case study tpms

We had an average of three downtimes per 10 trucks every month. Meanwhile, €1,500 of additional costs in penalties and damages were generated per truck. After installing TPMS, we have eliminated these costs.
